SCBBO is always looking for motivated, enthusiastic people to join our ranks. Basketball Officiating is a fantastic way to stay connected to the game and serve the youth of our community, all from the best seat in the house. SCBBO offers competitive pay and flexible schedules - games in the afternoons, evenings, and all day on many weekends - and a chance to enjoy the strong camaraderie of a proud professional community.

Our members are current or former players, coaches and athletic administrators; we come from all walks of life and range from our teens to our seventies. We share a love of basketball and a commitment to making the game fair for everybody.

Ready to get started? SCBBO provides a comprehensive training program covering all aspects of officiating, including rules, mechanics, signals, professionalism and more. Over the course of a two-year apprenticeship you will be taught by and work with some of our top rated officials, who will share their decades of experience at the highest levels.

During the apprenticeship, officials work games from youth recreational and "traveling" leagues to Middle School and Freshman games; as experience grows, opportunities for advancement abound. SCBBO offers annual scholarships to officials wishing to attend one of the many summer camps and clinics in our region, and hard work pays off - Varsity, District and State assignments await those who've got what it takes.

Interested? Contact our Assignor or any member of the board for information about the next Apprenticeship class. We hope you'll join us!
